The brand's history is as unique as its products. Svend Olufsen and Peter Bang founded their company in 1925 in the attic of the Olufsen family estate. A year later, young engineers introduced Eliminator, Denmark's first receiver powered by alternating current. Soon after, the world's first push-button receiver, the Master-39CH, was introduced, and then the first European reel-to-reel tape recorder, the Beocord-84U.
Today, TVs, audio systems, soundbars, speakers and headphones with the Bang & Olufsen logo are known and loved all over the world. Acoustic systems are valued for their non-trivial design, elegantly integrated technologies and materials that last for years. Many of the brand's products resemble stylish interior items. And about a dozen of them are included in the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
